Purpose Of My Blog

Turn your losses into lessons! If you never lose how will you learn?

— Ore Jackson

Ohio has great high school athletics, and we need to broadcast ALL from Massillon Washington to Woodward Career Technology. There are unheard of talents on great teams and bad teams. My blog is dedicated to discover and bring light to all talents across Ohio in basketball, football, golf, hockey, volleyball and swimming sports. I’m dedicated to shining light on every star even when he/she dosen’t shine the brightest.

Is Michael Jordan The Best?

Some people say MJ is the best nba player ever! Is he? Me personally I think he’s overrated just my thought. He was the center piece on a Bulls team in a era of basketball where there were positions. No one played on that team played out of their role. MJ role was to SCORE, Scottie P role was literally to play defense and help MJ as secondary scorer, Dennis Rodman role was defense and rebounding, so on with every player on the team. MJ touched the ball every possession. He literally shot the ball over 30 attempts a game. In the era of NBA MJ was in every team played through their Big Man and not the Guard Play. The Bulls coach at the time which was Phil Jackson was one of the first coaches in the old NBA era to run a offense through the SG postion. Watch a whole Bulls game and not a highlight of MJ and maybe your perspective of the so called besct player ever will change.

NBA Era Vs. Era, Old Vs. New

New NBA: Soft, Positionless, Shooters, Strech Big Man, Everyone can Pass or Either Score

Old NBA: Rough, Tough, Very Physical, All Role Players, All Post Play. No Creativity.

I feel the New NBA era is more talented all the way to the last man on the bench. Besides the lack of physical play the talent level is tremendously better. We got 7 footers dribbling, passing, shooting and not just sitting in the paint. We got 5 footers jumping out the gym and dunking over everyone. They aren’t just passing to 1 person to score, its literally a team game now every position can score. I give all the credit of the development of the NBA to the Old era and the greats.

JD Mello Fellow

From Cincinnati, Ohio Born 12/15/1992. Excelled all forms of sports from basketball, football, tennis and whatever sports I touched. Played WR/OLB for Woodward’s Varsity from 2007-11. My freshman year my basketball team went 21-3 and lost in the second round of the tournament, my football team went 9-1 only losing to Withrow. Sophomore year I started Varsity skipping JV, we actually went 10-0 and lost in the first round to Huber Heights which had Braxton Miller. Junior year I ran into injuries, which prevented me from playing sports the whole year. I tore my meniscus in both knees and needed surgery immediately. Senior year I ran to injury again but I felt I had to play with or without a knee. During high school I had offers from UC, UK, Missouri and Tiffin University after my injuries all scholarships were snatch because my coach would and could not vouch for me, which falls into the purpose of this blog. Every player in every sport will have a voice to all coaches and universities. NO PLAYER LEFT BEHIND!
